The Solus Project (PC) Flings You Into Space And Asks You To Survive But You’re Not Alone

We’ve seen a tidal wave of zombie and post-apocalyptic survival games show up on Steam but there have only been very few space survival games that I can think of. The Solus Project is looking to fill that void and it looks AMAZING! I had left the press release open in one of my many browser tabs but didn’t go back to it until I saw this post by fullmtl on Reddit. The trailer up above shows off just some of the game but HOLY SHIT look at these screenshots on imgur! The little snippets of text bellow each image really go a long way to draw me into the world and I want to be there NOW!

Like any good survival affair The Solus Project is putting you into an uncomfortable situation that you did not create for yourself. After your space ship is shot down by something or someone you are now forced to survive on an alien planet you once thought could be a great home, now, not so much. So your crew is dead and your space ship is raining down parts all across this weird ass planet and you’ve probably pissed something off, what a great new home! Who know’s what you’ll find, hell, who know’s if you’ll survive long enough to find anything. Right now there’s 127 reviews giving it a Mostly Positive review score on Steam and the most interesting tidbit is that it’s survival lite. The Solus Project sounds like it keeps you on the edge of dying while throwing just enough story at you so that when you do screw up you’ll want to come back for more. It’s riding that fine line of challenge and fun which is a really hard line to walk and it sounds like they’ve pulled it off nicely. The Solus Project is in Early Access and available on Steam and GOG right now so suit up and check it out.

Prague/Uppsala, 18 February 2016. The Solus Project, the unique single-player, narrative driven adventure with survival elements by Teotl Studios and GRIP Digital is launching on Steam Early Access and GOG Games in Development today, 18 February 2016 and will also launch on Xbox One Game Preview on February 26th 2016.

With the human race on the brink of destruction, The Solus Project strands you on a distant unknown planet and challenges you to survive harsh, volatile environments while seeking the answer of how to save the mankind. With natural and unnatural dangers lurking around every corner, you will have to unravel the alien secrets of some seemingly deserted civilization. Are you really alone…?

The Solus Project is a unique experience. C ombining survival and exploration with a more linear narrative-driven storytelling. The environment itself is going to be the biggest enemy and the mysteries are going to be the biggest motivation for the players to continue their journey,” says Jakub Mikyska, CEO of GRIP Digital. “With The Solus Project we spent years creating a rich and atmospheric extraterrestrial world for people to immerse themselves into,” added Sjoerd De Jong, Creative Director of Teotl Studios.
The Solus Project will have regular episodic content updates on Steam Early Access, GOG Games in Development and Xbox Game Preview, offering a new region of the complex alien world to explore with every release, completing the puzzle with the final release in May.

Let the project begin.
