Full write up after the jump.

First up the big, BIG news, the PlayStation 4 is releasing in North America on November 15th 2013. So you better prepare your bank account, you’re about to be $399.99 poorer! In addition to the locked in date Twitch.TV is now officially on-board for direct streaming. This is great for all gamer’s as now both Next Gen consoles will be bringing everyone right to Twitch.TV’s doorstep. Sony also announced that you can stream Music Unlimited music in the background during gameplay. This also means you can listen to your own tracks loaded on your PlayStation 4 in the background as well so now you don’t need the developers to tell you what you should be listening to, you can pick your own damn song.

This next one has been rumored for awhile but Sony finally let slip that a new 12GB PlayStation 3 SKU was in the works which will let gamer’s bring home the blu-ray enabled console for $199.99. On top of that, they’re all done and it’s already hitting retailers today.

The last Sony hardware update and this one’s for the fans as the PS Vita finally get’s the price drop everyone has been waiting for. It seems Sony has finally heard everyone so now it’s time to put your money with your mouth was as the PS Vita is $199.99. Hopefully this influx of new owners will beef up the games library enough to stifle the people always complaining the portable would be great if it just had some games. Also the thorn in the side of every PS Vita owner, proprietary PS Vita memory cards, finally see a small reduction in MSRP. 16GB still seems to be the sweet spot in customer friendly pricing at $59.99 MSRP. But it’s already up on Amazon for $44.71 at the time of writing this article which is just barely below the average of $47.16.

Onto software first up the shocker of the conference for me, Borderlands 2 is hitting the PS Vita!? I never thought I would ever see this happening but yes it’s a reality but who would do such a think? It seems that those lovably crazy guys at Iron Galaxy Studios who brought you the awesomest two button fighting game in the history of video games Divekick that’s who! Of course 2K Games, PlayStation and Gearbox obviously have a hand in this too but congratulations to Iron Galaxy Studios for not resting on their Divekicker’s. Borderlands 2 should be dropping for the PS Vita in 2014 and it is bringing with it 4 player co-op, no word on cross saves or anything like that just yet.

Gran Turismo 6 made some skidmarks at Gamescom with the reveal that the seminal PlayStation racing game will make it’s debut for the PlayStation 3 on December 6th 2013. Along with that owners of the game will be getting drip fed gifted cars from the likes of Honda, Aston Martin, Audio, BMW and more through 2014. The pre-orders for the game were also released with Gamestop getting a laundry list of cars while Amazon has what I like to call the “Dr. Evil Big Baller Edition” where pre-ordering the game will net you $1 Million in-game credits.

MediaMolecule, makers of the lovable Sackboy who just happens to start in Little Big Planet revealed some hot new wares. They’ll be releasing the Little Big Planet HUB on PlayStation Network for Free. Sounds like this will be a great destination for not only current owners of the game but also people who have yet to pick up the series but wanted to know just what the hell Play Create Share actually meant. There’s no exact release date but expect it before the end of the year and expect the ability to pay to piecemeal content from Little Big Planet parts 1 and 2 if you do not own either.

As Sony touted during E3 the indies are storming the gates as multiple indie titles will dropping across the Sony hardware line. Cellar Door Games Rouge Legacy is hitting a trifecta coming to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is coming to PS Vita and PlayStation 4 with word that PlayStation Plus subscribers will be getting the game for free. N++ by Metanet Software will make its debut on PlayStation 4 this winter. Mike Bithell, creator of Thomas Was Alone, is also debuting his newest game Volume onto PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. This seems fitting as there are definitely shades of Metal Gear Solid VR Missions in Volume. Guns of Icarus Online will make its console debut on PlayStation 4 after having already been released for PC earlier this year. Vlambeer’s Wasteland Kings will be laying waste to your PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in 2014. The only game that can live up to the brutally of the original, the sure to be awesome Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number will also be making its console debut on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. Another sequel coming to the Sony family the teleporting super shmup Velocity 2X will be headed to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. The ambitious and eagerly awaited Starbound by developer Chucklefish is making its way onto PlayStation 4. Finally Fez was confirmed to drop across PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PS Vita soon. Congratulations to all you indie developers we can’t wait to check out all your games, especially the PS Vita versions.

The PS Vita has picked a 2014 installment of Football Manager and this year it’s titled Football Manager Classic 2014. A nod to the quick mode added to the previous years PC and Mac versions of the game. It is coming with the full Football Manager 3d match engine so don’t think classic means this title is watered down. And according to developer Sports Interactive
this has way more features than the PSP Football Manager series has had during its run on the PSP. Most exciting of all if you have the game on PC or Mac it supports cross saves via the cloud so you can continue to play no matter where you are.

Helldivers is an interesting looking title coming to all three platforms, the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. You’ll command the Helldivers from an overhead perspective and the trailer linked above shows off some pretty sick lighting during the dark moments. I’m really curious how they’ll have you controlling your four commandos on the different platforms and hope it turns out as awesome as it looks.

We got another look at the upcoming Sucker Punch game inFAMOUS Second Son and this we get to see our first look at a female character by the name of ‘Fetch’. The rest of the trailer is all kinds of slow mo crazy destruction. We ‘re sure in gaming everything is going to be blowing the hell up everywhere we go so it’s nice to see some of the little details in slow motion. Watch Dogs also had a new trailer released showing off a new faction by the name of DedSec who are also hacked into the ctOS network. From the trailer we get what looks like some new angles on previously seen gameplay but also some new stuff like the motorcycle jump across an opening bridge and Aiden Pierce causing the city to go dark in different spots at his whim. Also Sony made sure you know that the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 get 60 minutes of exclusive content (4 missions), an exclusive dedsec white hacker character skin and a hacking boost. Hopefully those four missions aren’t anything special but 60 minutes of content does sound like it will be.

Housemarque who was behind the hit Super Stardust is bringing the PlayStation 4 a new title by the name of RESOGUN. The team says it is a spiritual successor to the Stardust series but they are taking this idea further than a sequel would allow. It’s still a fast paced shoot ’em up and they say they were inspired by classics like Defender, Data Storm, DoDonPachi and Death Smiles so it sounds to me like all out shmup madness. However unlike Super Stardust this will not be a twin stick shooter as you’ll be restricted to single stick play but there’s also friendlies to rescue so I’m not sure why they didn’t say they were influenced by arcade hit Choplifter. There’s no hard release date but they are committed to co-op multiplayer so the team has already earned bonus points from me.

Dear Esther developers The Chinese Room are bringing Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture a new game all about exploration to the PlayStation 4. The team says the game is heavily focused on story so while you’ll be in a first person perspective it’s not like you need years of shooter experience to play this adventure game. As the title suggested the game will take place during the end of the world but your job will be as a scientist who sounds like he’s frozen in time at that very moment. You’ll have to explore the world and try to piece together clues to try and discover what has happened to the world as you knew it. When most people hear first person story game they think super lead you by the ear gameplay but The Chinese Room say Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture will be non-linear and fully open for you to explore the world and make the story an individual experience for you.

That’s it for a HUGE Sony Gamescom 2013 wrap up, it looks like we’re still in for some amazing video games for 2013 and of course 2014 is going to be even better. If you’ve read all the way down here to the bottom of this wall of text, thank you for taking the time to visit our site, we really appreciate it.
