Sony’s Shu Yoshida Talks To Gameinformer About The PS Vita

Sony’s Shu Yoshida sat down with gameinformer and talks shop about what he’s learned and some interesting updates on the PS Vita. The big drop is that they are looking for close to 100 percent as possible backward compatibility with all downloadable PSP games and from a hardware point of view you’ll be able to remap the PSP buttons to the second stick. This is going to give a new lease on life for a bunch of PSP games, I know for a fact my time with Resistance: Retribution would have been a much better with the dual analog control. He also confirms that Sony is still looking for a way to change those UMD’s to digital downloads but nothing is concrete yet. My most interesting take away from the article is that the touchscreen, touchpad, camera, GPS and 3G of the PS Vita is a direct response to gamers asking why play a PSP game when they can play a better PS3 game. So there you go guys, the PS Vita now has abilities it’s bigger brother doesn’t to bring us unique experiences you can’t get on the big screen.
