Itching For SOCOM Like Action, Check Out H-Hour: World’s Elite

Things are looking up for SOF Studio’s H-Hour: World’s Elite as a pre-alpha trailer has just been released for the game. After SOCOM 4 fizzled there has been a cry from many gamer’s to bring about a game with the tactics and fun of the original SOCOM series, well H-Hour: World’s Elite could be just that game. Developed by the brainchild behind the original SOCOM series, David Spears, H-Hour: World’s Elite has the pedigree it needs to scratch that tactical third person itch.

Right now the game is in very early alpha so don’t expect some flashy dubstep trailer here but the third person shooting does look to be very promising already. Right now SOF Studio’s is looking to tighten up the demo and get a good a good amount of footage to shop around to investors and hopefully get a full game created. Be sure to check out the trailer and then join the great community over at http://www.sofstudios.com and watch the game come to life.

PRESS RELEASE

SOF Studio’s (Special Operations Forces) Presents: H-Hour: World’s Elite

A Pre-Alpha Sneek Peek Video

The backstory of SOF Studios (@SOFstudios) and its production of H-Hour is rich in history.  Some of you may recall a Playstation title called the SOCOM series.  SOCOM 1 and 2 were the brain baby of Creative Director, David Sears (@DavidTroySears) and that series evolved the building of eSports as we know it today.   socombattles.com developed into gamebattles.com and then MLG snapped it up. Those games introduced a military tactical shooter that without the use of aim bots took skill and communication to win.

Now with Sony closing down those SOCOM servers for good this month, it looks as if the genre of a Third Person Tactical Shooter is all but forgotten.  Wait for it …

Enter SOF Studios, a well-organized Kickstarter campaign and David Sears himself to resurrect the once massive community that had all but scattered. The making of a demo to market H-Hour: World’s Elite became a reality with successful crowd source funding of $252,000. The Studio board of management opened up operations in gorgeous Southern Pines, North Carolina. They put their heads downs and four short months later they are on point in the development of a demo or “proof of concept” so they can seek out VC funding and/or publisher to build this exciting game.

In a completely transparent state of development, SOF Studios releases pre-alpha screenshots regularly to show their progress and listen to and accept feedback from the thousands of gamers that have flocked to the thriving community gathered at  www.sofstudios.com.

The milestone for the turn of the New Year is releasing a video of a pre-alpha (prototype) build of that demo they committed to deliver. As they turn the corner into polishing and fine tuning the demo, some lucky community members will be play testing the build. With a full game release date of Jan 2015 on both PC and PS4 planned, they’re looking sharp.

Enjoy a short pre-alpha video and get this game on your radar!
