Official Alien: Isolation Trailers Hit, We’re Cautiously Optimistic

The Aliens: Isolation trailers have finally hit the web and I’m sure like most of you who went through the Aliens: Colonial Marines debacle I’m using a 10 foot pole to watch this one from afar. First the good, Sega is releasing this for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, so all platforms covered. They’ve also gone back and turned this one into a sci-fi horror experience more like the original Alien film, with no mention of co-op or multiplayer which sounds like a good plan.

Now onto the bad, Aliens: Colonial Marines was in development hell for years and look what we ended up with. Aliens: Isolation has been in development secretly for three years, what we see today is hopefully what we’ll end with. We thought that same thing with Aliens: Colonial Marines and look what happened. You can say it’s a different developer so it shouldn’t matter but it does, no one likes to get burned twice.

Now I love the Aliens franchise, I have multi-dipped on the home video outings VHS, Laserdisc, DVD and Blu-ray editions, toys, comics, imported magazines, the games, I even own a replica M4A1 Pulse Rifle! I’m ready for a good Aliens video game experience and I really hope Sega and Creative Assembly can pull it off because this franchise needs a good game. I really want this game to be good, nothing would make me happier than Creative Assembly pulling off the hat trick. There’s so much lore and good stories to pull from if a great Alien game came out maybe they will spur more good Alien Vidoe Games, maybe even a trilogy! Be sure to check out the trailers and let us know what you think.
