You Can Finally Play Hide And Seek With Your Steam Library

We’ve all been wishing for this day and the great powerful and mighty GabeN has finally delievered, hiding games from your Steam Library is now available as part of the latest Steam Client Beta! No more shall you needlessly suffer by having to scroll the long long list of games you only have on Steam account because they were a $5 on Humble Bundle, Indie Gala, Bundle Stars or the Indie Royale with Cheese.

Have no fear in hiding your unwanted games that clog up your backlog, you can always find them under the new library filter appropriately titled Hidden. Of course these hidden games still count toward the total number of games in your Steam Library. I mean we’re on that magical race to 1000, right?

There’s a few other features in the August 7th Steam Client Beta as well like some updated desktop user interface styles, some In-Home Streaming OS X 10.9 fixes and for all you who heard it Valve has fixed the noisy log message from GameOverLayRenderer.log, man, that one was becoming annoying really fast when I was wearing headphones.

If you’ve not yet joined the Steam Client Beta you can do so by opening Steam Client, click on Steam in the top left, click on Settings, under the Account tab at the botton you’ll see Beta Participation click on Change select the Steam Client Canidate, click Ok and then Restart Steam. You can also check out the directions thanks to Jimo of the Steam Community right here.
