Dangerzone on Kickstarter is looking to take the fighting genre to the skies, literally, instead of years of training your muscles you now have 100’s of years of engineering at your finger tips with the latest in aerial weaponry. Usually when talking about fighting games it’s all about character counts, move sets, combos and graphics. Recently Dive Kick stood out from the crowd by boiling all those complex multi-button move sets down to a two button fighting system, Dangerzone is looking to reinvigorate the combat with a never seen angle, jets!
Is it just me are do I see a bit of inspiration from U.N. Squadron in the graphics? The team is only 30% completed but already the action shown off in the Kickstarter video looks ideal. I knew this game needed a specific look to capture the essence of those late 90’s Capcom and SNK styled fighters and I think they nailed that perfectly.
Sadly they are missing one little thing for me, a crucial plane, the F-14 Tomcat, I’m hoping this is the mysterious 7th character that has yet to be revealed. Other than that the game looks like it should be a breath of fresh air for fighting game fans and loves of 80’s/90’s nostalgia. They still have 16 days to go and just $15 CAD gets you a copy of the game for PC, OUYA or Android.
