Grand Theft Auto 5 On PS4/Xbox One Predictable, PC, It’s About Time

After making more money than most small countries, hell even some medium sized ones, it was no surprise Rockstar moved their baby, Grand Theft Auto 5, onto PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It’s a smart business move since a lot of gamers held onto their previous gen consoles to keep on playing with Trevor and the boys. But after many rumors and speculations they are finally taking time out to release Grand Theft Auto 5 for PC, you know, the platform where this franchise made them what they are today.

The other big news is that you can transfer your save but not just the normal way, you’ll be able to choose which platform you want to port your progression to. With all the console exclusives and lock-downs it’s surprising Rockstar was able to let players pick if they wanted to pick up Grand Theft Auto 5 again on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or PC. The way these things usually go down you’re locked into each platforms walled garden for life but I guessing a duffle bag of money goes a long way to make a bridge between rival fiefdoms.

In addition to a fresh coat of pain and some more polygons this newer version of Grand Theft Auto 5 will include all the new updates to the jobs, the weapons, the vehicles, the properties and the customization options already in the current Grand Theft Auto 5 experience. But there’s still something missing, which was just brought up on Reddit/r/Games a few days ago, the much anticipated Heists update. Rockstar has until Fall 2014 for the Grand Theft Auto 5 PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions to launch, I wonder if we’ll get the much promised update by then?

  1. The news here is not that they are releasing these versions. The news is that it will take them a full year from the original release date to release versions that needed to be ported from PS3 and X-Box 360 versions. We knew they would have a PC version eventually, PS4 and X-Box One versions are a trivial afterthought since they’re both PC derivatives.
