Heroes Of Loot Smashes Your Gauntlet Itch, Adds A Dash Of Rogue-Like To Spice Things Up

Awww yeah, take classic Gauntlet action, hit it in the face with some rogue-like sensibilities and give the graphics a crisp pixelated appearance and you have Heroes of Loot. You can choose from four classes, stop me if you know this, wizard, warrior, elf and valkyrie, each with their own play style. Dungeons are randomly generated so you never know what’s around the next corner and when you’ll end up dead, oh you’ll end up dead and come back for more.

You want loot, it’s called Heroes of Loot, there’s loot, it’s everywhere, loot away young rogue master. In addition to loot there’s also mystery items, ooooh spooky right, I know, what do they do, I don’t know, use them and find out. You can play it right now on something you have to own, PC, Mac, Linux, Ouya, iOS and Android. It’s even coming later to PS Vita thanks to Abstraction games. Head on down past the jump if you dare and check out the trailer then loot away, it’s your destiny!
*fixed spelling of Rogue, DOH!

the HOOK! 🙂

This has maybe been my biggest challenge ever: completing a rogue-like the way I like to play them. After every platform game or shooter I did in the last 8 years, I always started a rogue-like or dungeon-crawler type game.. but never got a satisfying experience out of all those prototypes..

Now I did and it’s called –   Heroes of Loot  !   and it’s one of my proudest moments!

the Game

Think classical Gauntlet on steroids and brought into the now. It’s fast, it’s chaotic, it’s action packed and it removes all the boring stuff that rogue-like’s sometimes have too much of in my opinion 😉

The game grows and changes as you progress as a player (made visible with the dungeon-difficulty meter displayed in the games interface)  so make sure to play a lot before diving into your review, because chances are you haven’t seen every challenge or mystery this game has to offer 😉

With great music from Gavin Harrison, who also did the much acclaimed Gunslugs soundtrack, and a unique pixelated graphical style, this is clearly a rogue-like made by Orangepixel.

and we just hope you guys like the experience 🙂
