Flame Over, Fire Fighting Rouge Like Heads To PS Vita 2014

Flame Over sounds like the best use of randomly generated levels and rouge like that everyone should be ashamed they didn’t think of first. As a fire fighter you’ll have run headfirst into a blazing inferno inside an skyscraper with a random floor plan. So like a real fire fighter you never know what’s inside the building until you’re in the middle of it fighting for your life.

The team over at Laughing Jackal have listed some pretty cool ideas for this game. The first being that the random skyscapper is 16 stories high, which means you’ll need to bring 16 cans of fire extinguishing whoop ass. There’s also loot, power ups and secrets a plenty for all your moonlighting treasure hunters. Finally the fire itself isn’t just some sprite that does damage. In Flame Over the fire will radiate, jump between items, burn through consumable fuel objects and even destroy the environment all in real time.

As fire fighter Blaze Carruthers you’re no rookie on the force and you’re bringing all the tools you need to get the job done. Blaze has and extinguisher, fire axe and what fire fighter would be complete with out a fire hose that can tackle even the nastiest of blazes. However the fire axe is where it’s at, chop through doors and bust down walls as you see fit, Blaze isn’t about to let some pesky drywall prevent him from saving trapped workers and save the cutest cats in the universe. We can’t wait to see more of this very hot sounding game and it’ll be here in no time as Flame Over is scheduled for release on the PS Vita Q1 2014.

PRESS RELEASE

Laughing Jackal announce Flame Over for Vita

BRAINTREE, UK – ??/08/2013

Lauging Jackal have announced their latest Vita title Flame Over.  Speaking on the PlayStation blog Laughing Jackal’s senior producer called it:

“A fast-paced, action-packed firefighting roguelike, featuring randomly generated levels and complex fire A.I. that radiates, jumps between objects, consumes fuel and destroys the environment in real time.

The player’s objective is simple. Guide a firefighter through the sixteen floors of Infernal Industries’ skyscraping HQ, exploring your environment, seeking out loot, secrets and power ups and hunting down blazes against the clock.

Levels in Flame Over are fully destructible and feature four different themes, many room types, secrets items and levels, environmental hazards and tons of lovely loot and power ups.”

Flame over will feature:

A multi-layered random level generator so the player can never ‘learn’ the best way through each level. Like a real firefighter you’ll be walking into the unknown every time! Each level has its own theme, room types, fuel objects, mini missions, secrets and victims to rescue.

Play as Blaze Carruthers, London’s foremost firefighting hero, who will be discovering each level’s layout, using his trusty hose, extinguisher and fire axe to track down blazes, hack through doors and walls and rescue imperilled workers and – of COURSE – save cutesy cats.

With no two playthroughs ever the same, players can also save out their favourite levels, set Challenges and share them with their friends other players worldwide using Near.

You will also be able to fuel the flame war using more traditional Cash Dash and Time Attack leaderboards.

Flame Over will be blazing a trail onto PlayStation Vita in Q1 of 2014
