Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Overload

So here we go, there was a bunch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 news released and we thought we would strain it for you and present it all here. First up we have the Multiplayer Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Trailer we felt this trailer had one problem, at the start it looked like it was showing off a co-op mode rather than team deathmatch multiplayer mode at the beginning.

Now we move onto the new Game Modes, Perks, Point Streaks and Strike Packages. Point Streaks are divided into Strike Packages named Assault, Support and Specialist. Each package grants you different items to call in once you hit a point streak, easy enough. Assault brings you UAV’s, Care Packages, AC130’s, Predator Missiles, Mortar Strikes, Juggernaut Suits and Attack Helicopters; all your streak points reset on death. Support brings you remote gun turret drops, hacked airdrop, ballistic vests for your team, EMP’s or the Osprey gunship that brings five airdropped packages; all your streak points will not reset on death. Specialist lets your stack perks, up to six and after eight kills you have every perk available to you active.

The new perks coming to the game are:

  • Recon: explosive damage shows the target on the mini map
  • Blind Eye: cannot be detected by air support or sentires
  • Assassins: cannot be detected by UAV, portable rader, thermal or heartbeat
  • Quickdraw: faster aim down sight
  • Stalker: move faster while aim down sights
  • Marksman: targets can be identified at longer ranges.

However there are some perks are taken out One Man Army, Nuke, Commando and Last Stand are all history.

You also now level up guns as you use them, dubbed Weapon Proficiencies, allowing you to reduce recoil, sway and add more attachments. The new Multiplayer Modes added are Kill Confirmed where you need to grab the dog tags of your fallen enemy before a score counts and Team Defender where you hold the enemy flag for as long as possible. Finally the new private match modes available are:

  • Infection: infected kill enemies to make them your team (sounds like Zombie mode from Counter-Strike)
  • Drop Zone: your team must hold the zone for points and care packages
  • Team Juggernaut: kill players with the support of a Juggernaut
  • Juggernaut: kill the Juggernaut to become the new Juggernaut
  • Gun Game: be the first to make a kill every every gun
  • One in the Chamber: gain ammo be eliminating enemies.

Destructoid lists out every gun available to you in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. My favorite is the UMP45, I just love the sound it makes, hell you could print the list off so you can make sure to catch them all!

Now we know that Call of Duty Elite is going to cost $49.99 and if you buy the Hardened Edition for $99.99 you get yourself a free year. But what do you get with your hard earned money? A years worth of DLC worth $60 alone, weekly competitions for real and virtual prizes, your clan levels up as you do, eight times the video sharing space, access to expert strategy and analysis and access to Elite TV which has premium episodic Call of Duty themed content. Is all that worth $50, well it sure sounds like a lot the question is how much is all that worth to you? Remember without Elite you still get Clan support, video sharing, score information, heatmaps and career info.Everyone it seems will also get access to the web, console and mobile stats apps, more details on that should come out once the game releases.

Gameinformer brings us what the ultimate Call of Duty player would want an Xbox 360 themed model. My questions however is at $399.99 why does it look like it comes with the regular edition and not the hardened edition?

And then Call of Duty Elite gets its own trailer here:

Last up we have a giant list of screenshots from Kotaku of all the weapons ever in the Call of Duty Universe. Check out the pics here.  Hopefully that helps to catch everyone out on the flood of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 info.
