Rise Of The Triad Coming To Steam, GoG.com and Green Man Gaming This Summer

Rise of the Triad 2013 Logo

Rise Of The Triad the reboot of the classic first person shooter with crazy multiplayer options like Dog Mode and weapons like Drunk Missiles is making it’s way to Steam, GoG.com and Green Man Gaming when it drops Summer 2013. Interceptor entertainment lists cross-platform chat but I’m thinking if they mean cross-store chat and play so no matter where you buy the game you can play with everyone else.

This also suggests that Steamworks and Steam Workshop integration are a no go so hopefully the master servers for Rise of the Triad stay up a long time. Hell maybe we are really going back in time and they want to evoke some old school nostalgia, remember using GameSpy or All-Seeing Eye to browse server lists! But enough of my ramblings I can’t wait to check out a reboot of this classic game, to make sure you too check out these minimum specs; remember guys always shoot better than recommended if you can.

Minimum:
OS: Windows XP 32-bit
Processor: 2.4 GHz Dual Core Processor or Better
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 3870 / NVIDIA 8800 GT
DirectX®: 9.0
Hard Drive: 5 GB HD space
Sound: DirectX Compatible

Recommended:
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: 2.4 GHz Quad Core Processor or Better
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6950 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560
DirectX®: 9.0
Hard Drive: 5 GB HD space
Sound: DirectX Compatible

I noticed a little thing in these specs, Recommended Windows 7 64-bit. I’m hoping that means they’ve developed a 32-bit and 64-bit executable to get the most out of modern systems. However the 4 GB recommended Memory doesn’t really scream needs 64-bit but then again maybe it doesn’t need it.

You Can Finally Get Some Wang As Shadow Warrior Drops On GoG.com

Shadow Warrior Logo

Duke Nukem’s brother from an Asian mother, Lo Wang is finally on GoG.com as Shadow Warrior hits the best legal old and new games service. The action along with the one liners are fast and furious and you’ll even get the two expansions Wanton Destruction and Twin Dragon. The second great game coming to Gog.com is Terminal Velocity, the crazy space blaster with air to air and air to ground combat. I never knew there was 40,000 sq. miles of terrain but after flying around forever in my experimental TV-202 space craft I believe it. Sadly it sounds like the 8-player netplay isn’t working/included. The funny part is GoG.com lists Terminal Velocity as 78mb, Wikipedia says the CD-ROM version has 70MB of pre-rendered 3D cut scenes which would make the game 8MB! Aahh the good old days of trading 6 floppies, coming in at $5.99 each, relive your glory days and come get your game on!

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams Sure Are Far From Dreamy

In Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams the sisters sure get sucked into so very crazy and twisted land. A land with leafless trees, ugly enemies, dry burnt land and giant hungry monsters. The game is up for pre-order on GoG.com right now for 25% off but with it launching October 23rd 2012 you won’t be able to snag it at that price for too long.
