Games We Loved In 2012

Games We Loved 2012

Here’s A Belated List Of Games We Loved From 2012 Sorted By Release Date

Apr 06th 2012 - 10. Shoot Many Robots (PC)
Four player co-op loot madness the only game where a tutu, a baby carrier and a gnome launcher are perfectly reasonable on the battlefield. The soundtrack also has a kicking twang that keeps you kicking ass while you collect even more outragous items to beat down those blood thirsty robots. (Amazon Link)

May 15th 2012 – 09. Diablo 3 (PC)
Dungeons and monsters and gold and rubies and adventurers oh my! After the long wait it’s finally here though we wished it was more than four players at a time be prepared to buy a new mouse after this click-fest. The graphics, music and of course cinematics are all top notch while the voices will leave you and your friends mimicking choice quotes for days while onlookers think you’re a bunch of loons. (Amazon Link)

May 31st 2012 – 08. Max Payne 3 (Multi)
Max has an instant pain reliever, his trigger finger and boy does he know how to use it. The visuals are just gorgeous, the soundtrack fits perfectly and the film noir story with you in control of the drug addicted, never able to keep anyone alive Max Payne all equal non-stop engagement. Buy it for the single player and let Max take you on an adventure you’ll never forget. The multiplayer wasn’t bad but never did seem to hook us for some reason. (Amazon Link PC, PS3 and Xbox 360)

Jun 12th 2012 – 07. Battlefield 3: Premium (Multi)
The opposite of the above, forget the single player this DLC Season Pass is all out multiplayer madness. From the giant tank on tank battlefields, to the Top Gun infused dog fights above you all the way to close quarters squad on squad combat. Every battle is downright amazing and the unlocks keep you coming back for more. We wish there was a better clan/squad system but once everyone is on the same team there’s nothing like the destruction a well oiled squad can cause. (Amazon Link PC, PS3 and Xbox 360) *Note we’re linking to the Premium Bundle that includes the game and all the DLC, it’s usually cheaper this way now.

Jun 26th 2012 – 06. Ghost Recon Future Soldier (Multi)
Future tech can be fun and when you bring your buddies along it gets even better. All the near future warfare gear is at your disposal and it’s almost like hunting with a pack of Predator’s. While the campaign is linear and scripted it still packs in a damn good time, as long as you have three close friends to burn straight through it, multiplayer was also decent with wave based Guerrilla Mode and standard team based adversarial modes. (Amazon Link PC, PS3 and Xbox 360)

Sep 14th 2012 – 05. Faster Than Light (PC)
After all that action slow it down and take time to think, there are no saves and every action can see your ship severely damaged, your crew weakened, a fire consuming the medbay and maybe a tear from your eye as your favorite engineer was killed right before your very eyes by one of those damn aliens. This roguelike space game makes you calculate every move but with randomly generated space it means no playthrough is ever the same so you never really do win but we don’t care as there’s always time for one more round of FTL. (Steam Link)

Sep 18th 2013 – 04. Borderlands 2 (Multi)
Take a bazillion guns, saddle up with three friends and head on back to pandora with a new set of chumps set to find some treasure. While the loot kind of got stale on the second playthrough it’s the first playthrough where you are wide eyed and new to the crazy wondrous guns that will stick with you the most. Another game that’s a blast to play through with a core group of friends and the DLC is decent but the main game is where the meat is at. (Amazon Link PC, PS3 and Xbox 360)

Oct 23rd 2013 – 03. Hotline Miami (PC)
This game is ripped straight from the 80′s but that doesn’t mean it’s childs play. The blood flows in this twin stick puzzle murder-a-thon. Your an anonymous masked protagonist who must make his way through each level by killing everyone in your path. However you are also easily taken out so you must approach this with more brains than brawn, the throwback 80′s synth soundtrack will fuel your rage until you can finally wipe your hands clean. This is one of those games that’s frustrating in a good way and one that you will find yourself burning through quickly but damn is it satisfying. (Amazon Link)

Oct 23rd 2013 – 02. Forza Horizon (Xbox 360)
Bring some fun back to the racing genre with Forza Horizon, there’s a reason the game takes place around a festival. The graphics are top notch and while gearheads might find the tuning section lacking this game is all about going fast and looking good while doing it. We did wish there was even more cosmetic items like neons, hydraulics, car interior choices, etc the fun just never stopped. It’s the only other game besides Test Drive Unlimited 2 where I could just drive aimlessly with no destination and have the radio and the road ahead be my fun for hours at a time. (Amazon Link)

Nov 20th 2012 – 01. Hitman: Absolution (Multi)
Now we know there’s a lot of people who are comparing Hitman: Absolution to all the other Hitman games but here’s the intel on the latest, it’s fun! We had a blast figuring out how we were going to subdue the chef to poison the food or maybe wait for the target to hit the bathroom so we can hide his body in a stall, hell we could always just bust in the door and start shooting anyone and everyone in sight. There’s so many interesting ways to play each level you just have to open your eyes and look, then there’s contract mode where you can make and play other peoples assassination missions, finally multiplayer for a single player game done right! (Amazon Link PC, PS3 and Xbox 360)

Nov 11th 2011 – 00. Bonus: Saints Row: The Third (Multi)
If you haven’t played Saints Row The Third by now you need to get up off your ass and buy it and then make sure you buy a copy for a friend or hold their lunch hostage until they buy their own copy. This is THE BEST co-op experiences we had had while gaming bar-none. Sadly it’s only two player co-operative but it’s everything you could want in an over the top open world game. Do yourself a favor make a deal with your friend and only play it co-op together, no cheating and it will be amazing! (Amazon Link PC, PS3 and Xbox 360)

That’s it for our games that we played and really enjoyed this past year now we would like to hear from you! Leave us a comment below and tell us the games we missed so we can add it to our ever growing backlog and so that your fellow gamer’s have something to buy especially during the next Black Friday/Steam Sale.

The A-Team And Magnum P.I. Plus Battlefield 3, Bad Company and World In Conflict

That title should literally make your head explode just from reading it, if not well here’s the videos to go along with it! This all is possible because of this story, Battlefield 3 Gets The A-Team Treatment, over at Kotaku which brings us the first video down below. Then, and this is why I love the commentors, we get an even better A-Team Battlefield Bad Company Video which I think really fits the tone of the original Battlefield Bad Company. Finally bringing us some more old TV charm is this Magnum P.I. Style World In Conflict Video . So there you have it pure 80′s TV nostalgia brought to your from some fine Twenty First Century Video Games. I also embeded the original intros for the A-Team and Magnum P.I. so you can contrast and compare.

Review: Battlefield 3 – Part 1 – Single Player Campaign

Battlefield 3

Why am I reviewing the single player campaign of Battlefield 3 as a stand alone product you ask, well because it just feels that way. Sure it’s got the same menus, interface, controls and glorious graphics but it just feels separate, so separate in-fact that the librarian of all your stats that is Battlelog doesn’t keep track of a damn thing for single player. All we get on the PC is just a giant “Launch Campaign” button, no time played, no kills, no silent takes downs, no bullets fired and definitely no “hey, you beat mission 1 faster than your friends you rule” which seems to be the push behind EA’s insistence that you must launch Origin, then Internet Explorer and then finally the semi-menu of Battlefield 3 which let’s you finally play the game.
