Episodic King’s Quest The Complete Collection Pre-Order Up

So when I first saw this I thought it was a complete King’s Quest Collection starting with the 1984 classic, instead this is a Complete Collection of all the new King’s Quest episodes. This new King’s Quest experience is set to start with the first Episode being released on July 28th (PC, PS3 and PS4) and 29th (X360 and XO) in 2015. I’m really curious to see how this new King’s Quest plays so far it has looked and sounded exactly how I would want a brand new King’s Quest experience to be. But this announcement makes me a little disappointed King’s Quest the saga isn’t getting some grand Criterion Collection treatment but maybe we need to wait for all the episodes to be completed for that to happen.

The King’s Quest Complete Collection will retail for $39.99 and include 5 episodes along with a bonus epilogue, no word on if you’ll be able to purchase that bonus separately but the episodes are going to be available a la carte for sure. I wonder if the epilogue will have a great credits sequence at the end in the style of American Graffiti or Stand By Me. Hopefully this brings a whole new generation of players to the King’s Quest franchise and more chapters to the series going forward.
