What About Those Weapons In Far Cry 4?

So what you will about the Far Cry franchise but Far Cry 3 proved it could be just as fun as the original, I still have a sore spot for Far Cry 2 but I digress. Far Cry 4 however looks like it’s giving us more of the same as the third entry in the series and so far I like what I’m seeing. Now you can’t have a first person shooter with some shooting so Ubisoft has finally seen fit to introduce us to the real stars of Far Cry 4 with this Weapons of Kyrat trailer.

The trailer opens with one the greatest lines I’ve ever heard in my FPS tour of duty, a gun store owner/preacher saying “Welcome to my church, away from church“. Sounds about right to me, lets blow some shit up padre! Then we get a nice MTV quick cut style romp through Kyrat showing off sub machine guns, machine guns, heavy machine guns and more.

A few of the fun things shown off in this Far Cry 4 trailer to take note of breakable glass, bait, mortars and attachments. Breakable glass might not seem note worthy but the fact you can shoot through the damn windshield of a vehicle is sadly missing from a lot of games and thankfully in Far Cry 4 you can do it, shooting the driving and having the vehicle roll to a slow stop. You can also finally bait animals to come chew up baddies, which seems like it’s going to be a worthy tactic that many a YouTuber will use for laughs.

Mortars are new to the series, unless I missed them in Far Cry 2, and they seem like a great way to take out those strongholds like Bette Midler from a distance and then waltz in and clean up like a boss. Finally there are a few weapons shown off with different attachments ere and there of which I hope we got a lot of. Nothing is better than making your favorite weapon your own but customizing the hell out of it. Of course the flamethrower returns, hopefully with an equally satisfying level to use it with.

All in all Far Cry 4 looks like it is shaping up to be the game we want. Now once Far Cry 5 rolls around Ubisoft better have a few more tricks up their sleeve because I want them to take a chance and step out of their comfort box. Really take us to a new and exciting place and not just Ubisoft The Game Ver 3.0.

PRESS RELEASE

UBISOFT RELEASES FAR CRY 4 WEAPONS TRAILER: arms provided by a new and intriguing character

WEAPONS TRAILER: YOUTUBE

Ubisoft today released a new trailer featuring the weapons of Far Cry 4.  Get an in-depth look at the all-new arsenal of weapons that will be at your disposal in Far Cry 4.  Rain fire on your enemies with destructive mortars, grenade launchers, and machine guns, or take a stealth approach with auto crossbows and Kukri knives.

This impressive arsenal of weaponry will be supplied to the player by a new and intriguing character. Longinus admits to being a former warlord, and that he found God when he nearly died during a civil war in his country. After traveling with various religious missionary expeditions, he has followed a trail to the Himalayas and finds himself in Kyrat, caught up in another civil war that looks all too familiar.  Longinus may have changed, but that doesn’t mean the lion has become the lamb.  He’s willing to sell guns and supplies to the sheep while advocating that they fight for their freedom, because he knows from experience that warlords don’t simply go away…

With Far Cry 4 players will experience the most expansive and immersive Far Cry ever, in an entirely new, massive open-world. Players will find themselves in Kyrat, a breathtaking, perilous and wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king. Using a vast array of weapons, vehicles and animals, players will write their own story across an exotic open-world landscape. Developed by Ubisoft Montréal in collaboration with other Ubisoft studios, Far Cry 4 will be available worldwide on November 18 for PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC.
