Video Games Live: Level 3 Kicks Street Fighter 2 Into The Mix, Still Needs Your Help

Video Games Live: Level 3 has just made a huge announcement, adding songs from Street Fighter 2 into it’s line up of already amazing songs. Before we say anything else the man behind this whole thing, Tommy Tallarico, has to be congratulated on such amazing talent, vision and bringing Video Game Music to the masses starting all the way back in 1994.

With this latest announcement everyone who is a gamer should be backing the Video Games Live: Level 3 project, who doesn’t love the music for Street Fighter 2? That opening riff is in the legendary hall of classic video game music up there with the likes of Sonic and Mario, you know exactly what’s about to going down the second it hits.

So now that this announcement has been made and Video Games Live: Level 3 is 60% toward it’s goal with only 10 days left I would hope this starts the eventual climb of pledges way past the goal of $250,000. While this arrangement was only done using a synthesized orchestra you can already hear that it’s going to sound amazing live and for old school video game fans like myself it should give you chills. Los Angeles, CA, USA – September 3 2013/… Video Games Live™, the first and most successful video game touring concert in the world, today confirmed that Street Fighter II, will be featured on the upcoming Video Games Live: Level 3 album. Capcom’s iconic fighting game has been a fan favourite for over two decades and Video Games Live will be including a new orchestral arrangement of the theme tune on the Video Games Live: Level 3 album, which is currently running a Kickstarter campaign to fund its production and release.

“Keep in mind that none of the orchestra is real in our mock up,” said Tommy Tallarico, CEO/Executive Producer/Host of Video Games Live. “It’s all done on computers and synthesizers, so the final track will sound a lot better and more full than this mock-up. However, it does give you an idea of the arrangement and energy that this amazing franchise has!”

The Kickstarter campaign for Video Games Live: Level 3 the album will be studio recorded with a 72+ piece orchestra backed by a 60+ person choir and explosive rock band.  All recordings will be written, arranged and conducted by famous game composers from around the world. All proceeds will go the creation of the album and the fulfillment of the prize tiers for backers.
