Windforge is a game that for some reason reminds me of a time when you used to cut out cardboard people in place them in weird dioramas for other people it might just look like something on late night Adult Swim. Anyway back to the game, Windforge is based on air, and where most games have you making castles, this is closer to the Red Bull Flugtag. That’s right you can make your own reproduction of the Space Battleship Yamato and have it actually take to the skies, well if you survive long enough to gather that many materials. Snowed In Studios is hoping to get on Steam, hopefully Project Greenlight helps them along the way. Until then check out the video to see what it’s all about, building and crashing!
Windforge Gameplay Video Released; Build and Destroy in the Skies
Snowed In Studios’ first video for Windforge showcases the ship building process
OTTAWA, CANADA – July 27, 2012 – Snowed In Studios, an Ottawa-based video game and interactive media developer, has officially released their first gameplay video for Windforge; a building-block RPG for PC currently under development.
The video showcases the ship creation process in Windforge, alongside its physics and collisions system for destruction. Important points on ship building covered in the video include placement of ship scaffolding, creation of the ship body, placement of essential ship components, and arrangement of blocks for effective ramming.
“We’re excited that players will have complete control over the items they build in the game, as well as how to use them” said Evan Hahn, Co-Founder of Snowed In Studios and Creative Director of the project. “The video shows only some of the ship components you can build with. I can’t wait to show off the more advanced ship features that we are working on.”
Supported by the OMDC Interactive Digital Media Fund, Windforge is currently in development and is expected to be released later this year.
